Hey there, I hope you’re having a great day so far. Welcome back to the newsletter and if it’s your first time, I’m so glad you’re here.

Last week, we talked about the tension between doing vs. resting and how to walk in God’s rhythm instead of the world’s. If you missed it, check it out here.

This week, we’re delving into something so timely – I know you can relate for sure. It’s the one thing that has the potential to steal our joy, make us lose focus and completely mess with our mindset.

Yes, you guessed it from the title of this post – it’s Comparison Syndrome.

That scroll of Doom 😟.

You know, when you’re having a decent day, feeling okay…

Then you see her – posting about her promotion, her perfect family, her dream vacation, her weight loss …

And suddenly, your own joy starts to shrink,

Your confidence wavers.

And you start wondering, “Am I even doing enough?”, “Why isn’t it working for me too?”

✅ Here’s the truth:

Comparison isn’t a productivity problem – it’s an identity problem.

And the only way to fix it, is to root ourselves in the truth of who God says we are.

And when we do this and root our identity in Christ, not in achievements, roles, or how we stack up next to others, that’s when we regain our confidence and our peace.

📖 What does God say:

Let’s get this one thing straight –

God isn’t comparing you to anyone else.

He’s not ranking your calling, your pace, your personality, or your progress.

 Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that:

“We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” – Ephesians 2:10

So that means, you are not behind.

You are not overlooked.

You are not “less than.”

But you are His masterpiece.

So let’s see how we can actually do this and break free from comparison syndrome.

🛠 Here are 5 Practical Ways to Break Free from Comparison Syndrome.

1. Start with Scripture

Let God define you; not social media, not your past, and not your performance. When comparison creeps in, open your Bible before you open your apps.

2. Speak Life Over Yourself

Affirm who you are in Christ, even when your feelings don’t match your faith. Words shape your reality so speak God’s truth out loud, especially when doubt shows up.
Try looking in the mirror and speak this affirmation every morning:
“I am fully known and deeply loved by God. I don’t need to compete. I am complete in Him.”

3. Stay in Your Lane

God didn’t call you to copy someone else’s journey. He called you to run your own race. Remember that your pace, your process, and your path are handcrafted by the Creator.

4. Celebrate Others Without Diminishing Yourself

Cheering for someone else doesn’t take anything away from you. In fact, it strengthens your character and reminds you of God’s abundance.

5. Detox Your Inputs

What you consume shapes how you see yourself. If your feed makes you feel “less than,” it might be time for a spiritual scroll detox.
You can try to curate your inputs by muting or unfollowing accounts that stir comparison and replace them with voices that speak truth and inspiration.

Let’s remember that breaking free from comparison is a journey that we take one step at a time. But once we stay rooted deeply in who God created us to be, we keep speaking truth over ourselves and we stay focused on our own unique path, we are guaranteed to protect our peace.

So let’s walk this week confidently, knowing we are God’s masterpiece, beautifully designed and deeply loved.
