Hey there, we’re so glad you’re here and hope you’re having a great day so far.
This post comes from our weekly newsletter – Monday Morning Reset – where we reset our faith with the Core Four each week:
1 Lesson to shape your mindset
1 Scripture to ground your spirit
1 Affirmation to speak life
1 Question to reflect and reset
If you’ve ever whispered, “God, I thought this was the plan…” this post is for you.
📑 1 Lesson: Trusting God When Plans Fall Apart
Why do we get so frustrated when our plans fall through, even though we know God is in control?
It’s often because we say we trust Him, but deep down, we’re still gripping the steering wheel. When we’ve made our lists, set our goals, and mapped out the perfect route, then then life throws us a detour, suddenly we’re overwhelmed, discouraged and sometimes even angry.
But here’s the hard truth: when we try to control outcomes, we’re not really trusting God – we’re trusting ourselves.
But God doesn’t need us to hold it all together because He’s already holding us.
When our plans fall apart, His never do. Every disappointment is an invitation to let go of control and lean into His greater purpose. Then we realize that our frustration doesn’t come from His delay but from our desire to direct and control everything.
So with this in mind, let’s remember that only the Planner knows the plan. So even when it doesn’t make sense, we can rest knowing that God sees the full picture and we can trust Him to have our best at heart.
📖 1 Scripture
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5–6
Remember, you don’t need the whole map, just the next step. God already has the route planned.
💬 1 Affirmation
“I don’t need to control everything. God already has a plan, and I’m safe in it.”
Repeat this when your day feels out of control. Let it guide your reactions and your rest.
❓ 1 Question for You
I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
Where are you still trying to hold the pen instead of letting God write the story?
Ask yourself: “Have I actually given this to God?”
Let’s remember – His peace begins where our control ends. We don’t have to figure it all out because He already has.
Let’s stay rooted in Christ,
Nikeba
