Are you struggling with living like Christ in this modern day culture? If yes, then you will love this new series. This post comes from our weekly newsletter – Monday Morning Reset – where we reset our faith with the Core 4 each week:
✨1 Lesson to shape your mindset
✨1 Scripture to ground your spirit
✨1 Affirmation to speak life
✨1 Question to reflect and reset
In our last post, we talked about how Jesus can be found in unexpected places – and my Jesus toy story 😊. If you missed it, you can catch it here.
📑 1 Lesson: Living Set Apart in Modern Times
Have you ever wondered how, and if it’s actually possible, to live Christlike in a world that is constantly pulling you in every other direction except towards Christ? 🖐
And no wonder, because in today’s culture, we’re bombarded with messages telling us who we should be, what success looks like, how to fit in, etc and this pressure to keep up can leave us feeling torn between our faith and the world’s expectations – and ultimately confused.
The thing is, when we don’t intentionally root our identity in Christ, we allow room for the world’s voices to grow louder, subtly shaping our character and choices without us even realizing it.
The result? We feel spiritually scattered. We say we want to follow Jesus, but life feels like a tug-of-war between faith and fitting in. Over time, this leaves us feeling drained, disconnected from God, and frustrated because we know we’re called to live differently, but it feels so hard to actually do so.
That’s why I’ve decided to create this series, Christlike: Living Set Apart in Modern Times, where we will walk through how to cultivate Christ’s character in practical, doable ways. Over the next 10 episodes, you’ll get practical, real-life ways to reflect Christ’s heart, not just in church or during quiet time, but in the middle of daily life when you’re dealing with difficult people, when culture says “put yourself first” or when you feel overwhelmed, unnoticed, or pressured to conform.
Each week, we’ll focus on one attribute: Love, Humility, Compassion, Forgiveness, Patience, Gentleness, Boldness, Obedience, Servanthood, and Sacrifice. And we’ll talk about the real modern challenges you face in these areas and how to respond in a Christlike way that brings peace, purpose, and spiritual strength.
My goal for us is to slow down, reset, and live out our faith in small, powerful ways, even in a culture that tries to pull us apart. As we start to anchor our identity in Christ daily, I’m sure we’ll notice a shift as the noise of the world won’t rattle us as easily – we’ll start to feel more steady, more intentional, and more aware of how Christ is shaping our reactions and decisions.
Remember, we were never meant to blend in with the world but instead we were made to reflect Christ. And this is not about being perfect, but about being purposeful and intentional.
So, let’s walk this journey together, one Christlike choice at a time. I can’t wait to see how this series transforms us together.
📖 1 Scripture
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
— Romans 12:2
This verse reminds us not to blend in with the world’s patterns but to be transformed by renewing our minds in Christ. It’s the foundation for living set apart so we can clearly know and follow God’s perfect will in every area of life.
💬 1 Affirmation
“I choose Christ’s way, even when it’s not the easy way. His Spirit strengthens me.”
Speak this when you feel overwhelmed by worldly expectations or tempted to blend in. It’s a reminder of your identity and purpose in Christ.
❓ 1 Question for You
I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
“In what areas of my life am I conforming to the world’s way instead of living Christ’s way?”
Take time this week to reflect. Is it how you spend your time? The way you approach relationships? The definition of success you’re chasing? Awareness is the first step toward transformation.
Being Christlike in today’s world isn’t about striving harder, it’s about staying connected to the One who is. Over these next 10 weeks, let’s walk this out together.
Next week, we’ll dive into “Love in a Self-Centered World” and explore how to genuinely love others, even when the world tells you to put yourself first.
