Over the past 12 weeks, we’ve learnt the 12 names of God. Now let’s recap them as we conclude our series, “THE NAMES OF GOD: Discovering Who He Is.”
This post comes from our weekly newsletter – Monday Morning Reset – where we Get Rooted in Christ through our Core 4 – 1 Lesson, 1 Scripture, 1 Affirmation & 1 Question.
📑 1 Lesson to Shape Our Mindset
Today’s lesson is a little different – instead of introducing a new name, we’re gently looking back over the last 12 weeks to recap the Names of God we’ve learnt. This time has been a wonderful reminder of who God has shown Himself to be in our everyday, ordinary lives. Here we go…
- Elohim – The Creator God (“Mighty Creator”)
Elohim reminded us that God is the Creator who brings order out of chaos. Whenever life felt scattered or overwhelming, this name encouraged us to trust that nothing is beyond His power to shape with purpose and care. - Yahweh – The Self-Existent One (“I AM WHO I AM”)
Yahweh showed us that God is steady and unchanging. Even when everything around us shifts, He remains faithful and present in every season of life. - El Shaddai – God Almighty (“The All-Sufficient God”)
El Shaddai met us in our limitations. This name reminded us that God’s strength is sufficient, sustaining us when our own energy runs out, and that His power is nurturing, not distant. - Adonai – The Lord, My Master (“Lord/Master”)
Adonai invited us to release our grip and trust His guidance. Recognizing God as Lord encouraged us to consider what true surrender looks like in our daily decisions, relationships, and plans. - Jehovah Jireh – The Lord Who Provides (“Faithful Provider”)
Jehovah Jireh reminded us that God sees ahead and provides in His timing. Even when provision feels uncertain, we can trust that He knows exactly what we need and when we need it. - Jehovah Rapha – The Lord Who Heals (“The Healer”)
Jehovah Rapha spoke to the areas in our lives that need restoration. This name reminded us that God cares about our hearts, minds, and bodies, and that His healing is both gentle and transformative. - Jehovah Nissi – The Lord Is My Banner (“My Defender and Victor”)
Jehovah Nissi reframed the way we see battles. Instead of fighting alone, we are reminded that God goes before us, defending us and claiming victory on our behalf. - Jehovah Shalom – The Lord Is My Peace (“Source of Peace”)
Jehovah Shalom slowed us down and brought calm. Peace doesn’t mean the absence of trouble – it means God’s presence is steady and constant, even in the middle of chaos. - Emmanuel – God With Us (“God Dwelling With Us”)
Emmanuel reminded us that God is close. He doesn’t just watch from afar; He walks with us through ordinary moments, hard decisions, and the quiet struggles we carry each day. - Jehovah Tsidkenu – The Lord Our Righteousness (“The One Who Makes Us Right”)
Jehovah Tsidkenu reminded us that righteousness isn’t something we earn. Jesus has already accomplished it, and we are invited to live from that truth rather than striving to prove our worth. - El Roi – The God Who Sees Me (“The One Who Notices and Cares”)
El Roi met us in the unseen places of life. This name reassured us that we are never overlooked or forgotten – God sees our efforts, struggles, and quiet faithfulness. - Alpha and Omega – The Beginning and the End (“The Eternal God”)
Alpha and Omega anchored our journey. God started our story with intention, and He remains faithful to carry it through to the end, holding the beginning, middle, and future of our lives securely in His hands.
Now, as we look back, we realize that our God is able to meet us exactly where we are in any and every situation. So this week, let’s remember to call on Him by His name as He is always faithful and fully present.
📖 1 Scripture to Ground Our Spirit
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8
This verse ties everything together. The God we’ve been learning about hasn’t changed, and He is just as present this week as He has always been.
💬 1 Affirmation to Speak Life
“I am held, known, and guided by a faithful God who is with me from beginning to end.”
Repeat this to yourself today, especially when things feel unfinished, uncertain, or overwhelming, and let it anchor you in God’s steady presence.
❓1 Question to Reflect & Reset
I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below. Your perspective might just encourage someone else on their journey.
“Which name of God from this series has stayed with me the most, and why?”
Take a few moments today to reflect, journal, or share in the comments. Naming what stood out helps us recognize what God has been gently teaching us all along.
Feel free to save and refer back to this recap of the 12 names of God and call Him by His name. Be reminded this week of how powerful, loving, caring and faithful our God is.
I’m so excited for next week as we start a new series “Rooted Identity: Who God Says We Are.” We’ll find out what the Bible says about our identity vs. what the world says. Until then, I pray you have a blessed week and if you missed our last post on Alpha and Omega: The Beginning and the End, you can catch it here.
